SwissAm had its best season yet.
Under Coach Ron Emery, our membership grew to new heights. The generosity of LRC and Loveland Ski Area with
hill space has to be recognized as having been a big part of our success. Our regular season came to an end this week. We are working on a spring training program which
will be ready to publish soon. SwissAm members
approached me to look into a summer camp as well. In
the running is Mt. Hood, Bariloche, Argentina
or Saas Fee, Switzerland. Clearly the
most reasonable will be Mt. Hood. Please drop
me a line if you are interested in a summer camp and what your preferences would be:
preferences 1 and 2.
SwissAm would
like to have a team for the Elephant Rock Bike-a-Thon, Saturday, June 6, 2010 (http://www.elephantrockride.com/).
To help raise funds for LRC, LRC Scholarship Fund, The
Ski Cooper-SwissAm Race Pavilion and athletes themselves.
SwissAm will credit 20% of your
pledges towards next years SwissAm training fees. The
remaining 80% of pledges will be spilt as follows: 30%
LRC youth; 20% LRC Scholarship Fund and 30% to Ski Cooper-SwissAm Race Pavilion. SwissAm is a 501c (3) organization, so
donations are tax deductible. This should be a
very fun event for a good cause.
SwissAm will
post a sample pledge letter in the near future on the website.
Ski Cooper-SwissAm Race Pavilion
FUNDRAISER
As most of you are
aware, Jeff Maddex from Ski Cooper, chose SwissAm to spear head a fundraiser for the
forest service approved improvements for next season at the Black Powder Race Arena. This will be a new start pavilion complete with a
timing room, a warming room with benches, heat and a covered start. This will allow for a longer, steeper starting
ramp.
One Hundred trees
will be cut along the course to widen Black Powder in a few narrow sections. In return, SwissAm will get the naming rights to
the pavilion, special hill space and reduced pricing for speed camps and speed series
events.
Individual sponsors
will also have a plaque on the pavilion wall. Sponsorships
are as follows:
Platinum $2,000
Gold $1,000
Silver $500
Bronze $100 (no
plaque)
Donations are fully
tax deductible since SwissAm is a 501c (3) corporation.
We have already
raised $3,000 in donations, so we are a third of the way towards our ultimate goal of
$10,000. Thank you to those who have already
donated!
Please consider
donating. This will enhance training and race
experiences at Ski Cooper!
Your contribution
will be helping out a loyal supporter of SwissAm/RMM.
I have had numerous
requests to publish a business directory for our members.
Whoever is interested to be in our business directory, please send me the
necessary information IE:
Name ,Profession, Message, Contact email and phone number
and we will post it
on our website. I think this would be a good
way to learn about our members and support each other.
Your President,
